I’ve been a tutor/teaching assistant since 2009, working with students from pre-K through college on subjects including language, performing arts, college counseling/standardized test prep, and college-level coursework. In college I was a volunteer tutor/teaching assistant in community schools, a member of the tutoring staff for my student-athlete peers, an education fellowship winner, and a teaching assistant.

Currently, in addition, to private tutoring positions, I am a college consultant for Crimson Education, a content creator for an education-tech startup (for which I create videos explaining college-level math and science content), a per diem school counselor at McLean Hospital’s Pathways Academy (where I specialize in working with school-aged students with learning disabilities, anxieties, ADD/ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders), and an asthma educator at Boston Medical Center.

For me, educating is not only a job, but a form of self-care. As a student, there is nothing more worthwhile than sharing the knowledge I’m gaining with others and seeing how what I’m learning in the classroom and on my personal journey can benefit my students.

Prior to college, I participated in the math Olympiad, took honors math classes, and earned test scores on the math sections of standardized tests. In college, I earned honors grades in college-level precalculus, calculus 1, and statistics, as well as tutored for statistics. Most recently, I’ve workes as a content creator for an educational technology startup, for which I make videos explaining math concepts and solving problems. Finally, prior to college, math was not my best subject, and I came away from each class with an arsenal of strategies for success that I can pass on to students who need to boost their grades and or confidence in math.

I was a psychology major at Duke. I was inducted into the Psi Chi honors society and awarded a psychology teaching fellowship that allowed me to serve a teaching assistant for PSY 101. I also have tutored higher level
