About Neil

Hello! I am a born-and-raised New Yorker who loves education and empowerment. I graduated valedictorian of Brooklyn Technical High School in 2012, and I just graduated summa cum laude from Harvard, where I studied Social Studies (political science and sociology), with a focus field of Human Rights in the Middle East. In late September, I am headed to Oxford, where I will earn a Masters in International Relations as a Rhodes Scholar. After that, I will start at Yale Law School. I've earned 99+ percentile scores on the SAT and LSAT, and a 5 on eleven AP exams.

I tutored my fellow classmates at Brooklyn Tech, and in college worked as a peer tutor employed by Harvard for multivariable calculus, introductory and intermediate economics, psychology, Arabic, and writing. I've also taught an online public speaking course to students in Hong Kong, as well as led government simulation conferences for high school students in Boston, San Francisco, Madrid, Rome, Hong Kong, Seoul, Dubai, and Sao Paulo. I'm now available to tutor in middle school or high school subjects, as well as for the SAT or LSAT, or help with personal statement writing. I'm excited to help!

I earned a 5 on the AP Calculus exam, and earned an A in Multivariable Calculus at Harvard. I also worked as a peer tutor in Calculus for other Harvard students in college.

I am half-Syrian and have studied formal Arabic for three years at Harvard. I also spent two summers in Amman, Jordan.

I earned a 5 on the AP English Language and AP English Literature exams, and have received high marks on papers at Harvard, including a summa-level senior thesis on the Syrian refugee crisis in Jordan.

I earned a 99.5 percentile score on the LSAT, and earned admission to Harvard, Yale, and Stanford law schools.

I look forward to hearing from you! Please reach out to me with any questions you have or to schedule a first session! I believe very much in the power of learning, and I look forward to being on that journey with you.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Arabic

I studied formal Arabic at Harvard for three years, and spent two summers studying in Amman, Jordan. I earned an A in every Arabic course I took at Harvard--Arabic A, Arabic 131a, Arabic 131b, Arabic 241ar, and Arabic 134. I spent the summer of 2013 doing a formal, intensive Arabic course in Amman, where I earned an A, allowing me to skip second-year Arabic at Harvard and move straight to third-year Arabic.
