I am an Asst. Prof. in Mech Engineering at one of the SUNY colleges and living in Brighton, Rochester.
Tutoring has always been a part-time activity for me. I have 10+ years of teaching experience. I taught to middle school students to improve their grades at school and prepare them for the Keystone Tests. I have also helped high school students with their AP Physics and Calculus classes and for SAT preparations as well. There have been also college students in my student portfolio who were seeking help for their Calculus and Computer programming Classes.

When I was a graduate student. I taught at a community college as a tutor in the learning center for all levels of Math (Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Calculus I-II, Physics, Mechanics of materials, statics, Dynamics) and Computer Skills (C++ and MS Office). I have the teaching certificate, CLRA Teaching Certificate also.

I have been using Math in all my work, so I have developed an excellence particularly in Math and physics. Besides that, I have also been teaching Math at different levels, which have made me an expert on those topics. I can provide students a broad view of the topic which will help them to see where will they be using the subject in the future or how it is important. That always gives an extra motivation.

My teaching strategy has three steps in general. First, I start with very basic problems which are straightforward examples I use to clarify the subject. Then I ask an upper-level question to challenge them and let them work on it. If they can not figure out the solution, in the final stage I give hints to approach the problem and work together to the completion.

I can meet you at the Brighton library or somewhere at UR or also at RIT campuses if you like.
I am hoping that students will enjoy studying with me like the others have done so far. I am looking forward to seeing you.

Very Knowledgable and great tutor!

Mark has helped me with calculus 2, specifically volumes (washer/disk method, shell method) and other forms of integration. He started by giving a brief overview of calculus which was very nice and refreshing. The we used that to solve higher level questions. He breaks things down and explains concepts in a way that can be understood.

More Operational Analysis

Mark helped Stephan again with Operational Analysis, helping him solve some problems for his test on Monday. Once again, he thoroughly explained the subject material and helped Stephan to understand the subject more.
