About Daniel

My goal as a teacher is to not only help you learn new material and grow as a student, but at the same time help you develop your learning style and then fall in love with the idea of learning. This has been the driving force behind my development as a teacher. I have been working with children for over eight years at this point, and have loved every minute of it. One on one tutoring is my absolute favorite because I enjoy being able to focus with a single student at a time and help them grow.

Another aspect of teaching that I have fully embraced is the use of educational games and how personal interests can inspire further education. The best kind of learning happens when the students are having fun. This is the second driving force behind my growth as a teacher. Education has to be enjoyable for the student and the teacher in order for learning to happen effectively.

Math has been one of my favorite subjects throughout my educational career and one that I find I can be a huge support in. One of the ways I have been successful at tutoring Math is the use of my own collection of educational games that further the development of core mathematical skills. Not only will you strength your math skills, but you will have fun while doing it.

Technology is always advancing, and it is our job as teachers and tutors to integrate technology into the classroom. This being said I have been a avid advocate for the use of technology throughout my whole education career. I am proficient with Mac and Windows based computer and would be happy to assist in the creation and development of digital media projects. Not only is proficiency in the creation of digital media a requirement in today's world, but it is also one that allows the user to express themselves in ways they might not have been able to before.

While studying education at SUNY Geneseo, I was employed as a Digital Media Lab assistant. One of the main aspects of my job was to provide support for individuals or groups that were working on digital media projects, many of which were editing and recording video. I worked there for three years and helped hundreds of students complete digital projects that they were proud of. I love making movies and helping with all aspects of video production.

If you are interested in trying new styles of learning, fine tuning your current style, like to have fun while you learn, are engaged and passionate, and looking for a tutor, then you should message me. I would be happy to help you grow as a student and enhance your educational career.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have recently graduated from the State University of New York with a major in Childhood Education. Through my time at collage and high school, I worked with children in the elementary school age range and have become proficient in the subject material. One of my favorite things to do with this age group is to develop educational games that use the interests of the student to further develop their educational skills and overall knowledge.

Elementary Math

I recently graduated from SUNY Geneseo with a degree in Childhood Education. This covers teaching methods, techniques, styles, and strategies to help children succeed in their elementary education. I also currently tutor math for another student in third grade and have seen amazing growth and development in that child.

General Computer

I recently graduated from SUNY Geneseo, which required a vast amount of computer work to do, with a degree in Childhood Education. While I was attending school, I was employed by the Digital Media Lab in Milne Library as a lab assistant. My job was to help students and professors further develop their abilities and skills related to technology.
