In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. Through attaining my BA in Mathematics at SUNY Geneseo, Calculus was the first series of courses I worked through, and in doing so they became a foundation for later, more advanced coursework, as well as future research projects. Since studying calculus, I have tutored multiple high school students in the subject, through my work with the Science and Technology Entry Program, a NYS grant-funded program aimed at helping underrepresented students achieve admission and success in higher education, with a focus on math and the sciences. Currently I am working for the Science Technology Program.

Through attaining my BA in Mathematics at SUNY Geneseo, as well as my time tutoring high school students, I have become well-versed in a wide range of math coursework. Algebra 2 will be the begin stage to test students understanding and comprehension of vocabulary and solving application problems. Since graduating college, I have tutored multiple high school students through my years of work with the Science and Technology Entry Program, a NYS grant-funded program aimed at helping underrepresented students achieve admission and success in higher education, with a focus on math and the sciences. During my time at the college I was able to interact with a program called Rochester Young Scholars.

I am currently attending Nazareth College for a Masters of Education.
