Hi, my name is Tyler. I am a Master Certified Tutor, Level 3, of CRLA's International Tutor Training Program. I hold two Bachelor's degrees in Engineering Chemistry and Electrical Engineering from Oakland University in Michigan. During my time at Oakland University, I worked for the Tutoring Center as a peer tutor and supplemental instruction leader. This included tutoring students one on one in addition to working with entire classes ranging from 5 to 50+ students in Physics, Organic Chemistry, and Calculus. I am currently a graduate student at Rochester Institute of Technology pursuing my PhD.

I enjoy laughing and taking on new challenges that others would normally consider to much to handle. I decided to become a tutor because I enjoy helping those in need with a desire to learn as I discovered through assisting several of my peers at Oakland with subjects they were struggling in. My determination to ensure that those who need and want help with math and science succeed and obtain better understanding of the material is what makes me a good tutor. I have the patience to continue working with young students who may be frustrated with certain subjects until they reach a point of understanding

Furthermore, I have a strong understanding and passion for math and science, and for helping those in need. I also have great confidence in my skills as a tutor through having worked with several of my peers on math and science topics that they did not understand prior to my assistance. I also know through personal experience that not all students learn in the same way. It is for that reason that the capacity to understand and work with a diverse range of students and learning types in order to find the teaching method that provides the most benefit to the individual student is so important. I hope this short introduction is adequate in introducing me as a tutor and I look forward to tutoring any and all students who need help and want to learn.

Outstanding tutor

Tyler really helped me understand the fundamentals of my electrical engineering course for my upcoming final exam. Hes patient and goes slow with concepts and gave me a few examples to work on my own, helping me identify mistakes i made doing the homework before this lesson. Highly reccomend this tutor.

Great tutor!

Tyler is an extremely knowledgeable and patient tutor. He helped me understand and complete my physics homework in a timely manner. Will continue to work with him!

Shannon, 5 lessons with Tyler

Knowledgeable and patient

We went over superposition and mesh analysis. He showed me his technique in simplifying a circuit with a current going through it using mesh. We had inadvertently reached the current divider equation. I was surprised that he drew up LTSpice diagrams for all the circuits to verify the solutions and his reasoning for all techniques were solid.

TYLER IS EXCELLENT!

TYLER is the most punctual, organized and knowledgeable as it pertains to Math and Chemistry. My son's grade in math was not his usual A. Tyler helped him so much he brought his low C grade to a B+ in Honors Math. I would take 10 of Tyler! Outstanding... can't say enough about his skill-set, especially at his young age! Really great!

Best tutor I have ever had

Me and Tyler worked on Algebra for an entire semester meeting once a week, and sometimes more due to exams. Tyler was not only able to help me understand math in a way Ive never understood it before, but he was able to work around both of our busy schedules to make time to fit me in if I needed extra help as well. I have never been able to grasp math, and with Tylers help I was able to receive a B as a final grade in my college course this semester. Best tutor all around, with how kind, patient, and understanding he is.

Very knowledgeable and patient teacher

Tyler helped my daughter with math. He explained different ways to approach the problem and was very good at explaining complex concepts in a simple manner. Demonstrated patience and answered all questions with logical explanations.

In Depth Tutor

This was my second lesson with Tyler, he knows his stuff and will explain any questions you have in depth and with detail. If you need help with calculus look no further, this guy is your guy.
