I have been an assistant teacher for the year as an undergraduate at CUNY York College under two different professors. During the summer of 2019, I was an assistant teacher under an Organic professor named Dr. Lee. Where I assist students between the lessons. As for the second professor, I was previously performing research and mentoring her students in Biology.
What I loved about teaching, was the part where I made lessons for each student easier to grasp. The parts where they say oh my god" that makes sense now, or I get it now". It is the most satisfying to see their faces lit up because I helped them understand something they could not. It makes teaching worthwhile when the student can reach higher academic achievements because I helped them get there.
I graduated with a Bachelor of Science, where I had studied biology consisting of multiple biological courses about this major. The misconception is that I only studied biology, however, I needed to take chemistry and physics courses as well. As an undergraduate student, I had the opportunity to take general chemistry I and II. Where it taught a great deal of how atoms work together to create more complex beings, where atoms come together to produce reactions to produce an end result. Without these reactions, normal day to day routines can not be possible without it
I am open to mistakes and asking questions because I feel every student has the right to learn. All of us have our own unique talents and skills, and I am here to perfect them alongside every student. I once saw a post that has encouraged me as a student. The abbreviated "STUPID" indicates S=smart, T=Talent, U=Unique, P=person, I=in, D=demand which ultimately means everyone is amazing in their own way.

There is no such thing as stupid or I am not smart enough. The only way to being smarter than the average bear is to keep asking questions to obtain more knowledge. So next time, do not hold yourself back from asking questions since it will only lead to greatness.
