SUNY Potsdam (Business Administrat)
My first experience as a teacher began in high school when I taught my friend who was a cellist to play the Oboe, and she taught me to play cello. I knew then that I loved teaching and helping people.
I went on to study the Oboe and Business at the State University of New York at Potsdam. At SUNY Potsdam I tutored both Macroeconomics and Accounting. I made lessons plans and spoke with professors about the students. I have never had a student fail a course while I was their tutor. I was always happy to see my students pass their class and have confidence in their abilities. The greatest experience as a tutor was to have my accounting students excel with me into accounting electives.
At SUNY Potsdam I was an accounting tutor for 1 1/2 years. I currently work as an accounts payable bookkeeper.
I have a passion for music and teaching. I have studied with various artists. I have also studied at the Crane School of Music at SUNY Potsdam.
I have different ways to help students grow and succeed. I believe a positive attitude is the key to success. I am free after 4PM on weekdays, and free weekends. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have studied with various artists, and have a connection to Marcel Tabuteau through my teachers. I have playing the Oboe since the age of twelve and the English horn 15. I have studied at the Manhattan School of Music Precollege from 2006-2007 where I studied with Toyin Spellman. I originally went to SUNY Potsdam for the Crane School where I studied Music Performance and Music Business on Oboe and English horn. Unfortunately due to health issues I had to change majors.
