I am a certified TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) tutor. I was certified through the International TEFL Academy where I received 200 hours of training. I have a dual degree in Media Studies and Film Studies from Queens College.
I have experience teaching children and adults of all ages and have worked with students from 5 years old up to 65 and older.
I also have experience teaching in a classroom setting and one-on-one lessons. I currently teach 2 classes a week with up to 25 students per class. I have tutored and taught children and adults of different nationalities and different skill levels of English, from beginners to advanced learners.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
