About Jacqueline

I recently completed a MA in English Literary Studies at Durham University in the United Kingdom, during which I developed various conceptual abilities and analytical skills studying works that ranged from the classics to the twentieth-century. My favorite genre of literature is Victorian; however, I really do enjoy texts from all periods. Prior to my MA, I completed a BFA in Print and Electronic Journalism, and a minor in Broadcasting at Long Island University, C.W. Post. While in my undergrad, I held the roles of Resident Assistant and Senior Resident Assistant, during which I created and held various educational programs and drop-in office hours for students to seek academic help. I held various positions at my college newspaper, The Pioneer, which ultimately enabled me to become Editor-in-Chief, during which I read, edited, and provided feedback on articles written by staff writers. Further, I held a paid internship position at FlexLink, a production logistics company in Gothenburg, Sweden, creating and editing educational content for online publication. This content consisted of interactive lessons on various topics, and quizzes.I have received several award and recognitions throughout my study including the following: Nancy J. Meyer Tutorial Preparedness Award, Macleer Kourday Award for Excellence in the Study of Journalism, and a Recognized Woman of Achievement Award.

As stated, I have completed my degrees in the areas of Journalism and English Literature. Both of these courses were very writing intensive, and contained extensive classes on the foundations of writing. As a member of my student newspaper, I held positions of Staff Writer, News Editor, and Editor-in-Chief. These roles helped to further both my writing and editorial skills. Further, I held a position at a private investigative firm for two years as an Investigative Writer, during which I was responsible for writing reports, crafting press releases, and blog posts.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
