Gary was very helpful in conveying the underlying concepts to better understand the class topics. I would highly recommend him to other students.
He is very patient and makes chemistry easy to understand. Down to earth. Approachable. Not afraid to ask questions when I dont understand.
Gary is a great Orgo tutor. He was able to break things down for me so that I could understand the material more easily. Organic chemistry is tough, yet he is very patient, even when he has to explain/say things several times. Gary was also willing to stay with me for longer than we had originally scheduled, when I indicated that I needed a bit more time. I really appreciated it. I was very happy with the lesson.
Professor Gary is very knowledgeable and goes at a pace in which I can understand the material, topics such as isomers, calculating standard enthalpy, and Lewis structures...
Gary was a great tutor for my Organic Chemistry material. We went over a practice test and he explained every concept such as orbitals, functional groups, molecular geometry, resonance structures and acid and bases. He is very knowledgeable, patient and understanding. I recommend Gary for anyone seeking help or in need of a better understanding of chemistry. He was very accommodating with time, location and availability. I will definitely use Gary again and look forward to our next session.
Gary is very patient and knowledgeable, received a 91 on my first orgo test with his help, I have another test tomorrow and I feel pretty confident.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I have been an Organic Chemistry professor for 12 years. I completed my graduate training at Stony Brook.
