University of Rhode Island (Communications)
Pace University (Master's)
I graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2008 where I majored in communications and had a minor in business. After college I began my teaching career as a teacher aide. I worked with a third grade student as well as a lunch/recess monitor. I began getting my Master's in childhood education in January of 2011. I graduated in December of 2012 and got my initial certification in February of 2013. Through the Master's program at Pace I completed over 70 hours of classroom observation as well as Student Teaching. Student Teaching was an every day experience from September 2012 through December of 2012. I did my student teaching with a 4th grade teacher followed by a second grade teacher. This was done at a magnet school in Port Chester. Throughout this process I have been a substitute teacher in Rye and Port Chester. I am still subbing in the Port Chester School District. I have experience in grades K-12.
I have a ton of classroom experience. I have created lesson plans and have maintained classroom management. I am a hard worker and always finish what I started. I have a great deal of patience and love seeing my students succeed. I graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2008 where I majored in communications and had a minor in business. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I got my Initial Certification in February of 2013. I also got my Master's in Childhood Education (Grades 1-6) in December of 2012 at Pace University in Pleasantville. I also passed all NY state tests for teachers including the LAST, Multi-Subject CST and ATS Elementary.
