My experience includes more than 5,000 hours of working with high school students who are seeking 600+ in their critical reading and writing scores for the SAT and 30+ in English and reading for the ACT. More than 90 percent of the students I have worked with have achieved these results and received admissions offers from the top schools on their list. To prepare for these scores requires at least two hours of tutoring each week for two to three months before the test. To accomplish reaching target goals requires that students have identified colleges/universities in which they are interested and in some cases, are being actively recruited if their test scores meet the school's admissions criteria. In addition to exam prep tutoring, I also offer students the opportunity to work with me to identify topics for the essays that are required as part of the admissions process and then serve as editor during the process, not to change their style but to produce a well-written essay. Students who have worked with me as a tutor and/or essay consultant have been accepted at universities including Stanford, Notre Dame, Rochester, Hamilton, and Boston College, to name a few.

I also have successfully tutored more than a dozen sixth through ninth grade students who have taken the SSAT or ISEE as part of their application to private high schools. All were accepted to the schools of their choice.

Finally, I have also worked with adults who are studying for the GED or who are seeking help with basic reading and writing skills in order to advance in their jobs.

I believe in the team concept to learning. My role is to be teacher, coach, motivator, and on occasion, the student. Our success requires a commitment to reaching the goals we set, to doing the work required to get there, and to making sure that each time we are together, we share stories, laughter, and excitement about learning.
