My first career in education was in the city school district teaching children from all over the world for six (6) years. My second was teaching adults various English and Skill courses at a career college for seven (7) years. With 6 yrs. experience as a college level instructor, I have been teaching courses such as Career Skills and Critical Thinking. These courses deal with resume, cover letter, thank you letter, and portfolio development. Interviewing, networking, skill assessment, dress code, and other preparatory skills are also addressed. Both courses also stress the importance of thinking outside of the box to critically examine self and interactions with others.
I am Permanently Certified in Elementary General Education (N-6) and Special Education (K-12). I have experience teaching 3rd and 4th grades full-time and various grades, K-12, prior to permanent certification.

American Literature includes:
*Analyzing short stories, essays, poetry, and novels from various periods; responding to the literature by comparing general themes to current cultures and attitudes.
As the former Marketing Director of Pay-Per-View Services for a major cable corporation, the hours spent on in-house marketing were numerous! From concept to finished piece, materials included: print ads, brochures, flyers, direct mail, radio, broadcast, cable ROT, infomercials and local events.
I have won both local and national awards in marketing.
I continue to dabble in marketing by assisting friends with their business endeavors just for fun!
I currently teach a college level Oral Communications (Public Speaking) course. The course focuses on
reducing anxiety, articulation/tone/vocal variety/volume/rate, body language/facial expression/gestures, poise, message (including Power Point), and audience consideration.
I teach using these skills in everyday situations as well as in presentations.
I currently teach a college level Sociology course. What an exciting subject to teach, especially when your students are so intrigued!
I am Permanently Certified in Special Education (K-12). Areas of experience include ADD/ADHD, Learning Disabilities (various), Autism (minimal), Emotional Disturbance (ED). I have also taught ESOL and worked with students from more than 20 countries.
I currently teach a college level course titled, Strategies for Success. This course focuses on basic study skills as well as applied attitudes in business. The study skills include:time management, reading for content, mnemonics, note taking strategies, test taking strategies, and reducing anxiety.
