About Valmiki

How is life treating you? I am Valmiki, lover of the science. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor's in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering as well as my Master's in Chemical Engineering. I have been tutoring professionally for 2 years, but I've always enjoyed helping my peers, providing I have mastery of the material. I believe we have only gotten as far as we have because we had someone to pass on their knowledge. It is therefore my duty to do the same. I enjoy learning how the things around us work and that is how I understand the sciences. Through application and practice, you learn to love what you do.

I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm with you and reaching that 'Aha!' moment that I live for.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

I have been tutoring math, from high school to college level, for quite some time and I believe I understand the different methods needed to accommodate different learning styles. I believe that in order to teach something, you must first master it.

Algebra 2

I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Chemical Engineering at New York University. Engineering is a very mathematically intensive degree and I can say that I have a firm grasp of how math is applied to everyday life. I believe it is refreshing to understand how things work around you.

Calculus

Engineering is a very mathematically intensive degree and I can say that I have a firm grasp of how math is applied to everyday life. I believe it is refreshing to understand how things work around you. I have gotten top scores in Calculus I, II, and III at New York University.

Chemical Engineering

I have a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and have been a tutor at NYU School of Engineering for the past 5 years. As a result, I believe I have the capacity to tutor in this field.

Chemistry

I began to learn about the field of chemistry when my elder brother began bringing home his chemistry homework from high school. My love for the science has grown ever since so much that I am currently pursuing my Master's in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at New York University. I have been a chemistry tutor at New York University for the past five years.

Differential Equations

I have a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and have been a tutor at NYU School of Engineering for the past five years. This very mathematically intensive field depends heavily on differential equations and their analysis.

Geometry

I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Chemical Engineering. Engineering is a very mathematically intensive field and I believe I have enough understanding of how math is applied to our everyday lives to explain the fun and important topics that include Geometry.

Linear Algebra

I have a Master's degree in Chemical Engineering and have been a tutor at NYU School of Engineering for the past 5 years. As a result, I believe I have the capacity to tutor in this very mathematically intensive field in which linear algebra is a core skill.

MATLAB

Having taken Master's courses in Chemical Engineering at NYU, I have implemented MATLAB to solve many engineering problems over the past 5 years. I have also been a tutor at NYU for the past 5 years so I understand that not everyone has an affinity for coding languages.

Physics

I have gotten distinctions in Cambridge 'O' and 'A' Level Physics exams. I have also gotten A's in all levels of applied physics at New York University School of engineering. I have also tutored at New York University for two years.

Precalculus

I am currently pursuing my Master's degree in Chemical Engineering at New York University. Engineering is a very mathematically intensive degree and I can say that I have a firm grasp of how math is applied to everyday life. I believe it is refreshing to understand how things work around you. I have gotten top scores in Calculus I, II, and III at New York University.

Regents

Having taken the Cambridge examination for the equivalent Regents exams, I feel comfortable with the material taught. I am pursuing my master's degree in Chemical Engineering at New York University which has fully prepared me for any level of high school math or science. I am also tutoring my nephew who is also taking the Regents this year, so I am familiar with the most recent format.

SAT Math

I have gotten 780 in SAT Math on my first try and gotten distinctions in Cambridge A-level Pure Mathematics and Advanced Mathematics. I am currently tutoring Chemistry and Mathematics at New York University while pursuing my Master's in Chemical Engineering. I believe in perfection through practice.

Trigonometry

As a Chemical Engineering student at New York University, I have had considerable experience with the basic and advanced stages of Trigonometry. I have had to employ trigonometry in my extensive physics and calculus courses.
