I am currently a lecturer in the history department at the college level in New York. I believe my teaching experiences make me well
qualified to meet your needs. After graduating from an intensive Chinese teaching training program in August, I began teaching elementary Chinese language at the college level in the fall. As the first instructor in the Chinese
Language at my school, I've played an important role of building the Chinese studies program in the history department. I helped the history department develop the Chinese Studies track since Chinese language is the
foundation of Chinese studies.
Furthermore, at the beginning of the semester, I designed and revised the syllabus several times to fit the goal of facilitating students’ interests in Chinese language and
culture. In order to make the classes fun, I created a Chinese speaking environment, let students watch Chinese movies and had students do group project to apply what they have learned.
My approach to Chinese language teaching is to create dynamic classroom activities. In teaching Chinese, I believe that the best way of leaning a language is to be immersed in the target language environment. In the classroom, I set up different contexts and roles for students to speak and act out Chinese in a natural way and correct their pronunciations and tones individually.
Although learning Chinese is challenging for American students, my experiences enable me to understand their difficulties and help them effectively. I taught English and mathematics at junior high school in Taiwan. In
other words, I have more than six years teaching experiences so I know that being a teacher should take students’ progress both in academically and socially.
I also encourage students and make individual comments on their performances in class
by email to keep them motivated and know how to be a self-management learner.
Based on interaction with students, they enjoy the immersion environment that I create in the class and would like to continue their study in Chinese language. I would love to provide the same service to your student. I am currently a lecturer in the history department at the college level in New York. I believe my teaching experiences make me well

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
