I am a special education teacher who is licensed in a number of special education subjects. While I am currently an elementary teacher, I am licensed in grades K through 12. I have extensive experience working with children of many ages in a variety of settings, whether it is a school or a camp setting. I would be willing to aid tutees with homework help, as well as provide any support that they may require to be as successful as possible.
I enjoy working with children, especially in helping them achieve the best that they can. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a special education teacher who is licensed in a number of special education subjects. I have extensive experience in providing services for students with autism. My initial teaching experience was in a self-contained classroom for students on the autism spectrum grades 3-5. From there, I have provided private tutoring for students with autism in a private setting in conjunction with other service providers.
I have been extensively trained in the Orton-Gillingham method of direct phonics instruction. These include: the Wilson Reading System, Just Words and Fundations. I have also obtained my master's degree in special education with a concentration in learning disabilities. I also utilize a number of multi-sensory strategies for reading and writing instruction.

I started my career in education as an assistant for the exceptional children department in my school. I have since completed coursework for my exceptional children (special education) licensing. I have worked as the lead teacher in a self-contained class for learners with autism, and I am currently working as the elementary resource teacher.
