Grand Canyon University (Early Childhood Ed.)
My name is Miss. Jessica. I have a Bachelors of Science in early childhood education. I graduated from college with a 3.53 GPA, and am also a member of Kappa Delta Pi which is an honor society for educators who have a 3.0 grade point average or higher. I also have an Associates degree in early childhood education as well.
I am currently a lead pre-k teacher at a local daycare in which I teach students using the thematic approach during whole group time. Such whole group activities consists of all about me week (social studies), science week (conducting science experiments with static electricity etc.), social studies (community helpers, families), colors, alphabet, and number recognition recognition with books and hands on games and activities to promote learning by having fun(early literacy/math), and much more. My small group lessons include math (one to one correspondence, touch counting, patterning, number recognition, graphing, and counting aloud). I also conduct reading/literacy (name recognition, writing names first and last, alphabet recognition, writing letters of the alphabet, color recognition, writing numbers, recognizing names of other objects). I have also taught second graders by following the state standards by conducting lessons in reading, math, spelling, literacy, and science. I know how to successfully use pre and post assessments, along with modifications, other forms of assessment (formative, as I see it, observation, and questioning), and adaptations to ensure student success.
My specialties are teaching/tutoring kindergarteners and first graders with their math, reading, and spelling. I will also be more than happy to work with second graders with their spelling and reading. My name is Miss. Jessica. I have a Bachelors of Science in early childhood education. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My educational background of having a Bachelors of Science in early childhood education proves that I am capable of teaching elementary K-6th. I also graduated with honors from college which I feel shows my dedication to successfully learn everything their is to know about early childhood education. I also have done well on my student teaching in which I passed with a B, and was told I had excellent classroom management skills when it came to working with second graders with their reading, spelling, literacy, math, and science.
