Hi there!
I graduated high school and college at Rutgers University summa cum laude with a 4.0 GPA. I am currently a Ph.D. student at Columbia University studying potential treatment for pancreatic cancer. Tutoring is a side hobby of mine as I love to teach and have taught since I was 14 years old.

My teaching philosophy centers around consistent positive feedback and ensuring that the student is comfortable and excited to learn and work with me, a technique that has been very successful for the many young students I've worked with. Each student is remarkably unique and requires significant adaptation in my own methods. For this reason, I prioritize getting to know the student's strengths and weaknesses and utilize strong and consistent communication to determine what works and what doesn't.

My interests and hobbies are centered around my passion for cancer research and my zeal to further the education of others. In total, I have spent over three years in India and Nepal where I teach English and Math to street and slum children while running a non-profit organization. While I work towards my Ph.D. I volunteer with multiple mentorship programs serving underprivileged youth interested in STEM careers. Outside of my academic pursuits, I love to travel, spend time with my friends, and go on hikes.

I have dozens of students from elementary, middle, and high school who can attest to their great success in developing their math skills. I have tutored a wide variety of math topics and truly enjoy doing so.

While attending community college during high school, I volunteered at various STEM-related events, especially those focused on educating youth. I became known as "Mr. Dan the Science Man," a title that still follows me today.

Please message me and see if we're a good fit! I have over fifty parents with students of all ages who would be more than happy to discuss my performance. I have demonstrated a dedication to the wellbeing of their child and provided the student with a tutoring experience that

Common Core

I have tutored common core math across the board in over 10 different states both virtually and in person. Over the past decade, I have utilized services like CCSSI and Common Core 360 to familiarize myself and stay on top of common-core standards. Importantly, the common core may be "common", but each student is very unique. This is why I develop individual curriculums for each of my students which adhere to common core standards, but provide flexibility for each individual learning style.

I have tutored for over 10 years, starting when I was just 14 years old. Teaching is a love of mine and over the years I have developed and expanded my strategies to help every student in the way that works best for them. I taught a class of students from 2nd to 5th grade for several years as an afterschool lead-teacher. I also have tutored students in every year of grade school with much success. I have extensive materials for tutoring and teaching nearly any elementary schools subject.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor with great results!!!!

Dan is a wonderful tutor! I have 2 kids, both 11yrs old with very different needs and personalities. He tutors them in Math and ELA and keeps them engaged the whole time. They walk away excited, feeling like they learned something new or understood something better. He gives them easy techniques to refer to when they are doing individual work. I mentioned to Dan that they were learning exponents, and the next day my daughter got her answer right in the quiz and came home praising Dan! My son, read us his written homework and we barely had any edits. In the end, he said, I did it the way Dan told me and used a new word. I could not be happier with him, his approachability and his kind demeanor. Thank you Dan!

Knowledegable, patient and communicative tutor

Daniel communicates well with our 5th grade daughter and us. He develops a rapport with the child and gives a detailed summary to the parents after each lesson. In our case, he teaches the suggested material that we give him. He assesses the child's strength and weaknesses of the topic. He patiently keeps the student focused on the more challenging concepts until the child masters it. We are extremely pleased with Daniel's tutoring.
