I am Major! I am a trained epidemiologist and clinical trials scientist with MPH and MHSc and in the progress of completing a medical degree. I realized that studying and understanding science is never an easy task. Therefore, to have a mentor who can guide you through different challenges and solve questions together is critical. Not only do I love tutoring students with various learning styles, but also enjoy learning from my students, too. The best learning experience is a bidirectional process where students and teachers learn and grow together. I love going through and accompany my students’ learning curves and seeing them achieve their goals. I engage with my students at a high level, where I follow up after each class and personalize the learning style that best fits each student since each of them has different sensitivities and learning curves. I would adjust lesson plans based on students' assessments and feedbacks. Not only do I like to bring science lessons to life with real-life examples, but also to draw out concepts and transform them into graphs and tables with students. I commit to continual professional improvement in learning science.

I was a teaching assistant in statistics and epidemiology for graduate students for 2 years. I assisted students with reviewing materials and helping with homework assignments. I had taught in both group sessions and one-to-one lessons, so I am comfortable and knowledgeable in teaching students with different styles.

In addition, I have experience in working with students via the digital platform. At this point, I have several students who have gotten into prestigious medical PhD programs. I scored honors in all my clinical exams, passed both USMLE Step 1 and 2CK, and awarded outstanding junior research trainee. My areas of interest are not only in biostatistics, anatomy, and microbiology but also basic biology and physics.

Learning science and preparing for medical exams can be easy. Feel free to schedule a lesson with me.

Super smart and patient tutor

Major helped me with my public health courses and was super fast at creating the material needed for each session. Major is also very knowledgeable about the science and health based topics. Major was very flexible and responsive when it came to scheduling. I really enjoyed all our lessons!

Very helpful and supportive!

Major was a fantastic tutor. He understood my background in the subject area and took the time to explain the information in a way I would understand. He followed up with questions and re-explained anything I had trouble with. I especially appreciated his preparation before the tutoring session to identify graphs and slides that would help me understand the material. Highly recommend!

Very knowledgeable, thorough, and respectful tutor

Major was an amazing tutor. Before our session he took the time to contact me to get a feel for what we needed to discuss. During the session he was very thorough with his descriptions, provided visual aids/flow charts, and asked me after each explanation if I had any questions or needed any clarification. He took the material with which I was struggling and made it easy to understand. I ended with an A in my class and that was partly because of my great tutor!

Fantastic. Great tutoring session

Recommend! Major is a great listener. He asks perfect questions and provides excellent tutoring and guidance about epidemiology coursework. He gave clear and concise help that was easy to understand and helped reinforce what I had been learning in class. I will use Major's tutoring help again!
