Hi, I'm Alice! I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree in Biochemistry, Cell and Molecular Biology, and a minor in Philosophy. I am currently a 4th year MD/PhD student at the Icahn School of Medicine. I have completed the first two years of medical school and am currently in my second year of my PhD.

I have always loved helping students learn and figure out difficult concepts. My goal as a tutor is to help students find and develop confidence in their own ability to problem solve and understand difficult concepts.

I have tutored students 1-on-1 for 4 years in General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Cell Biology. Additionally, I have two years of experience as a teaching assistant in Cell Biology and Biomedical Sciences for MD/PhDs (a first-year PhD course that introduces students to broad topics in biology). I was responsible for creating and grading homework problem sets designed to teach students how to understand important concepts in biology, think scientifically, and think experimentally. I also held review sessions for the class (~12 students) to review the homework and clarify questions on difficult concepts before their exam.

Having completed the first two years of medical school and now pursuing a Ph.D. in Immunology, I am confident in my ability to teach in many areas of Biology and Physiology.

I am always happy to meet students wherever they are in their understanding of any subject and in whichever way they learn best. I welcome any resources students prefer using and will also make suggestions when appropriate. Please feel free to reach out with any questions or to schedule a lesson.
