Bio

Hi, I'm Eshaan! I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude (with highest honor) from Rice University with a perfect 4.0 GPA, a Bachelor's degree in Mathematical Economic Analysis, and a minor in Mathematics and Statistics. I was also honored with President's Honor Roll for 7 semesters as well as multiple competition awards and prizes. Now, I am headed for a PhD in Economics at Columbia University.

Hi, I'm Eshaan! I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude (with highest honor) from Rice University with a perfect 4.0 GPA, a Bachelor's degree in Mathematical Economic Analysis, and a minor in Mathematics and Statistics. I was also honored with President's Honor Roll for 7 semesters as well as multiple competition awards and prizes. Now, I am headed for a PhD in Economics at Columbia University.

As I spent time in college, I realized that one of the best ways to learn was to teach. Additionally, I know how frustrating it is to be stuck with an unyielding textbook, problem set, or professor. For these two reasons, I sought out opportunities to help my friends, family, and colleagues in learning all kinds of topics. I love helping students reach a fresh understanding (with a nudge in the right direction), and I love learning from students themselves. My tutoring philosophy is rooted in flexibility, individualism, and compassion. I view each student with unconditional positive regard; never with judgement. I believe that there is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to learning, and I am willing to meet students wherever they are in their learning process. In fact, one must listen to students in order to understand how to help them best. Moreover, I am constantly searching for feedback to improve my teaching, so you can be sure that I will keep experimenting with students until we find a route that works. Finally, I am prompt and organized, and I will always respect your time.

In high school, I received a 5 on the Calculus BC AP exam. I also earned a perfect 2015 SAT Math score, perfect 2015 SAT Math Subject test score, and a perfect 2015 ACT math score. In college, I completed a math minor with high marks in rigorous classes in calculus, linear algebra, and real analysis. I also completed a statistics minor with perfect marks in all courses, including probability and econometrics. Additionally, I scored higher than 95% of all test-takers on the Math portion of the 2018 GRE. Scores aside, I enjoy learning and teaching math

Exceptional Subject Knowledge

Eshaan has exceptional subject knowledge and was able to help me have a much better understanding of the material. Microeconomics is not for the faint of heart and has some very challenging concepts. I feel I will be able to master these concepts as I move through the material in order to do well on assignments and tests.
