Hello! My name is Aomeng, and I am a recent graduate of Columbia University, where I majored in Biochemistry and German Literature. In high school, I achieved a 2400 on my first SAT exam and subsequently received 800s in SAT Math II and SAT US History. Throughout college, I mentored low-income, first generation students from the surrounding Harlem neighborhood as a College Success Mentor at the Roger Lehecka Double Discovery Center. There, I helped students improve significantly on standardized tests like the SAT by catering to each student's learning style and goals, which has allowed students to achieve up to 700+ point increases out of the 1600 scale. I am deeply passionate about helping each student improve and feel confident in their own abilities, and I am excited to help more students achieve their goals!

I have taught students with varying levels of experience with math and can adapt my explanations to each student. For one-to-one sessions, in particular, I can tailor explanations to each student's style. Before each lesson, I review the topics or questions that each student would like to cover and prepare additional questions that help the student become confident in those areas.

As a German Literature major, I have extensive experience with literary analysis and can help each student break down passage-based questions. I teach students to become more active, critical readers who can consider various rhetorical techniques and literary elements during their reading. This enables students use an evidence-based approach towards the Reading section and improve their scores greatly.
