I’m a recent graduate of The New School, having earned a Literary Studies degree with a concentration in writing Fiction. In college, I was an academic fellow for an intermediate writing course, and became known for my pink pen, which I used on the stories and papers I edited. I’m a recent graduate of The New School, having earned a Literary Studies degree with a concentration in writing Fiction. In college, I was an academic fellow for an intermediate writing course, and became known for my pink pen, which I used on the stories and papers I edited. Students told me they looked through their stacks of returned drafts for the pink ink which signaled my extensive and constructive notes.
I’ve spent my whole life working on my craft, and have recently had the distinction of being nominated by one of my professors for the Emerging Voices spotlight in Slice, the literary magazine, where you can now read one of my essays. I can help students through the slog of English classes as a tutor, but I also love cultivating the talents of young writers as a mentor. In addition to the typical academic queries, do not hesitate to request me for assistance on general creative writing, or even personal writing projects, screenplays, play scripts, etc.

I believe in curating independent lesson plans for every individual. I'm extremely patient, and will sit with you or your child until they understand the concept. When it comes to editing, I believe in acknowledging strengths as much as pointing out deficits, and use this approach to coax out the best possible writing.

I have read and formally studied numerous texts. These are the ones I am especially well-versed in (even if you do not see your text listed, feel free to ask!):

1984
Brave New World
The Catcher in the Rye
A Clockwork Orange
The Crucible
The Great Gatsby
Hamlet
The Handmaid’s Tale
Lolita
Macbeth
A Midsummer’s Night Dream
Mrs. Dalloway
The Odyssey
Paradise Lost
The Tempest
To Kill a Mockingbird

I'm here to share with you the extraordinary power of language, and to teach you how to harness it yourself. From the rigidly academic to the more open-ended creative venture, please contact me to create the perfect lesson for you or your child.

Grammar,

As a writer, I have dedicated my life to the English language. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Literary Studies; during my time in school, I was an academic fellow. I worked closely with students on their writing, and became known for my reliability on grammatical assistance. In every one of my workshops, I was the Captain of the Grammar Police.

Proofreading

I went to college to study creative writing, and have sat in on numerous writing workshops, ranging from undergrad to adult. In all of these classes, I became known for my fastidious pink pen, and even landed a position as an academic fellow where I worked closely with students on their grammar, story structure, and the overall quality of their writing. From non-fiction essays to novel excerpts, I've spent four years proofreading and editing a wide variety of work. If there's so much as an apostrophe that didn't curl, I'll catch it.

I majored in Literary Studies, formally studying 83 books in college. While at The New School, I was also selected to be an academic fellow, where I assisted other students with their writing and their understanding of various literary elements. From a blank page to proofreading a final draft, I can help any step of the way.
