Math should be simple. It's just about numbers, right? So why is it so damn hard?!

The main frustration I hear from my students is that they feel stupid for not understanding math that's supposed to be "easy". They struggle on problems and concepts while their teachers and classmates whiz through everything.

But struggling doesn't make you a failure — everybody struggles! Maybe in 2nd grade, maybe in 10th grade, maybe in graduate school, maybe later in life as a parent or spouse. My passion...

My passion is helping people feel confident and excited to face their struggles. Math is a great way to practice the stress of confronting something new and confusing, to learn and grow and eventually triumph!

Whatever your age or background, whatever level of math you're working on, I'm excited to work with you. I have taught and tutored math for more than 20 years, at all levels from elementary school to college. I graduated with honors from Northwestern University with a degree in mathematics, and was a Fulbright scholar in the Netherlands, with my research focus on teaching mathematics.

Super helpful, knowledgeable, and encouraging!

Jeremy was really thorough in explaining the problems I had, with lots of patience and care. Even though I expressed a lot of doubts in my ability in Abstract Algebra, he was really encouraging and gave me words of comfort to continue studying. Thank you Jeremy : )

Great tutor!

He saved me from a failing grade on my homework. He explained each concept in a understandable and clear way. He's very patient and he pushed me to figure out the problem on my own. five out of five stars, would highly recomend.

Extremely helpful

Jeremy helped me work on writing mathematical proofs. He was so patient and really took the time to break down everything (big or small) and make sure that I fully understood what he was explaining. He had multiple ways of showing the same concept which really helped to laminate the concept. He was awesome and I will definitely be using him again when I need any more tutoring.

Excellent Tutor

Jeremy helped me work through some difficult problems in modal logic. His lesson was great. He's very quick to respond to tutoring requests and is extremely flexible. He is very patient, knowledgeable, and explained everything clearly. He would be a great tutor to contact for any discrete mathematics, symbolic logic, or mathematical logic course. Highly recommended!
