Hi! I’m a young professional in New York who graduated from Harvard in 2018. I’ve been working in public sector consulting for the past year. My strong suits are science and social science. I’m interested in helping students from all backgrounds, whether they’re trying for an acceptance at a top university, increasing their engagement and success in high school material, or working through their first or second year of college. Helping a student to succeed is serious yet fulfilling work, and I’m more than happy to approach it with the vigor and passion needed to help you reach your goals.

I have two main tutoring approaches. For class material and day to day learning, I ask that students send me their homework or class material of that day in advance. I’d then come to the lesson with a plan that reviews the foundation of what the teacher taught and address the student’s strong and weak points to a) ensure they really have the theory down and b) learn why they’re struggling. We’d finish the lesson by walking through and completing additional homework or textbook problems. I know the student has mastered the work when they’re able to teach back the problem to me. For long term tutoring, I may put together biweekly review packets to keep the material fresh. When it comes to standardized tests, I’d have the student take a diagnostic test with me to ensure proper timing and see how they approach the exam. Then I’d analyze the diagnostic test for the areas they need improvement. Finally, the student and I would determine a realistic test score goal (given our time together) and an approach improve their score, focusing on the easiest points to grab back first and then the harder, more advanced learning. This teaching would be supplemented with a strict practice test regimen to ensure progress! All lessons would be engaging and involve student input.

Material expertise:
My experience in math is up to and including multi-variable calculus and differential equations. I’m happy to teach foundational algebra and calculus skills so students feel more comfortable and confident with approaching math. In terms of my science experience, I did a whole degree in science! It was incredibly hard work yet I learned a lot and really grew in my analytical skills and ability to synthesize information. My background includes chemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physics (mechanics, EM, special relativity), quantum mechanics, and statistical thermodynamics. Lastly, I’ve taken a range of humanities and social sciences courses, in addition to my government degree, that have allowed me to grow as a writer and provided me with knowledge on how to improve your writing by increasing clarity, specificity, and conciseness.

I scored in the 99 percentile (33/36) for my ACT composite score. My SAT subject tests were 750 US History, 730 Biology, and 710 Math 2.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you have! My best times to tutor during the week are Monday and Wednesday evenings. On the weekend, I’m free on Saturday mornings and afternoons.

My experience in English language has been cultivate through college humanities and social science courses (e.g., African American studies, History and Literature, Government, Sociology) and advanced high school courses such as AP Language and Literature. My experience in world history stems again from college courses intersection history and writing (East Asian Studies, Latin American Cultural Criticism). For science regents pertaining, I have a college degree in Chemistry that included courses in biology, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physics, and other advanced material.
