I'm a certified private English teacher with +7 years experience and +28 years of Japanese practice. I'm an empath, a conversationalist, and a motivator. I can create a curriculum to suit your needs or work with one you already have. You get what you pay for with a tutor like myself.

Why do I know Japanese? I lived there as a child and returned as an adult. I majored in Japanese Studies and took courses on translation and interpretation. My supervisor who is also a Japanese professor has praised me on my ability to succinctly explain difficult Japanese grammar rather than dismissing questions in classes. As a native English speaker who has studied Japanese, I know the most effective methods to learn it.

Bonus: I was on the JET Program up until my 5th year. I still volunteer with the JET Program. I can tell you almost everything you could want to know about the organizations running it and how to write a good statement of purpose.

My students are usually one of the following:
A Japanese language learner in high school, college, or on the path to conversational Japanese.
An high beginner to low advanced English speaker at a foreign company.
A native or bilingual English speaker who has trouble writing essays especially for high school, college, TOEFL, IELTS, or the SAT.
A young learner with autism who wants to improve on communication and problem-solving skills.

Please let me know if you think we would be a good match and I'll be in touch with you shortly.

Kind, patient, and smart

Sara helped me with the structure of my SoP. I haven't written an essay in a long time, and I needed help getting ideas on to the paper, and with direction. Would definitely recommend her!

Knowledgeable and patient tutor.

Sara is a fantastic tutor. I was a bit nervous at the start of the session but that dissipated immediately. The lesson was well paced, and was so immersive and interesting to the point where I forgot I was even studying.
