Hello,
I'm Dina, currently an Undergrad at NYU pursuing Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics.
I would concentrate on each individual, the student, to help explore and develop studying skills to further their knowledge in the specific subject. I am certain that my passion in teaching and interacting with young students will not only be an opportunity to practice teaching and be an underpinning to my further studies in education, but will also be a great contribution to the students.
My interest in teaching started since I was in High School; thus, I have various teaching and tutoring experiences in a diverse environment. When I taught English to middle school students for four months, I concentrated on reading comprehension with fiction books of the student’s interest, and helped expand vocabulary by touching upon difficult words while watching CNN Student News. When I have guided students at Brooklyn International High School as an assistant teacher and a mentor, I was told that I am exceptional at understanding the individual student’s needs and getting to know the students well.
I have taken the AP Calculus BC exam during my sophomore year of High School and received the score of 5, and received a full score on the SAT Math Subject Test.
I was born in Korea and lived there for 10 years and I also translate letters from English to Korean for an NGO.
