Hi there! My name is Patrick, and I bring a unique, energized approach to mathematics education whether I'm teaching in my middle grades or secondary classrooms or partnering with you remotely. Mathematics shouldn't be boring! It doesn't have to be so hard, either.

Up through high school, mathematics was straightforward for me, but when I committed to it in college, I found a lot of difficulty with the work. I dealt with my challenges and grew, and went to graduate school to understand why some types of teaching and learning work much better than others--and now I've got a PhD in the content, pedagogy, and psychology of it all! Here's the moral of the story: it's ok to feel a bit pressured by a challenge, but you can get through it, and you'll do it more quickly if you don't suffer in silence; a good instructor can be adaptive and support you in ways that help you advance as a student, mathematician, and person in general, while playing to your unique strengths.

I've covered a lot of different mathematics courses over the years as both an instructor and researcher, but I also have extensive experience with standardized exams (most especially the SAT and ACT), having worked for both Revolution Prep and the Compass Education Group earlier in my career.
