New York University (Neuroscience)
I am a recent NYU graduate working in finance. I work as a financial analyst at a F500 corporation and work with numbers all day. I scored a 780 in the math section on the SATs and have experience teaching elementary/middle school level math for 5+ years. My neuroscience degree required courses in calculus, statistics, physics, and other applications of math in science. I have also taken courses in accounting, economics, and regression for my business minor.
Psychology is a passion of mine that I love to teach. I double majored in neuroscience and psychology and graduated with a 3.7 major GPA in psychology and took graduate school level courses at the end of my undergraduate career. In addition, I have conducted 5+ years of brain-related research between Columbia University Medical Center and New York University. My passion for psychology led me to found an academic psychology society in college where I was able to peer mentor over 500 students, match students with research labs, and foster relationships with professors.
I studied classical music for piano and flute at a music school and was selected to participate in New York State All-State, Area-All State, and All-County ensembles through NYSSMA. I started teaching music before tutoring.
I am very flexible on weekends and evenings (after 6:30PM). I am available to teach in New York, NY, Westchester County, or online. Also, my rates are flexible depending on the subject and needs of the student. I love giving college and career advice the most and am interested in helping students of all ages find their passions and cultivate their interests! I am a recent NYU graduate working in finance. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
In addition to taking AP Biology and the SAT subject test in high school, I took Principles of Biology I & II, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Molecular and Cellular Neurobiology, and other courses in college.
While I have a strong math/science background, I have always loved literature, especially British literature. I have tutored in elementary/middle school level English before. I also have taken writing intensive courses in college related to law and philosophy.

I attended a competitive public high school in Westchester county and am familiar with state testing. I have taken seven Regents (ELA, Spanish, Global History, math and science related subjects) and have scored over a 90 on each.
I received a 780 on the Math SAT section. I also have a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience, which required many math-heavy courses such as physics, calculus, statistics, and programming. In addition, I work in finance at a F100 company and work with numbers all day.
Although my background lies in math and science, I have always loved literature and reading. I received a 700 on the Reading section of the SAT and took philosophy, law, and writing courses in college.
