About JingCi

In 2007, I was admitted to the pre-college division of Tianjin Conservatory of Music with the Top score. I came to Capital University in 2012 as the recipient of the Global Ambassador award ( Full-scholarship for four years).

I have performed throughout China and Hong Kong, as well as in many cities of United States. Among her numerous piano awards there are first prize in international music competition (2015, CA, U.S.A.), national first prize (China, 2014), state first prize (Ohio, 2013), and finalists in international piano competitions (2008 in Oberlin, Ohio and 2009 in Beijing). As well as the third prize at the Women in Music Columbus Music Auditions in 2012. I have played the Mozart D Minor Concerto, K.466 with the Capital Orchestra and Rachmaninoff 2nd Piano Concerto with Capital Symphonic Band at the university.

Recently, I have been officially accepted by several major conservatories and music schools at the world. Among with the Ohio State university, University of Cincinnati, Cleveland institute of Music, Manhattan school of Music and the Mannes school of Music. Ultimately, I decided to work with Ms. Pavlina Dokovska for her Master of Music degree at Mannes school of Music in New York city. After my two years of study at Mannes, I will pursue her Doctoral degree. My dream is to become an accomplished concert pianist and a wonderful piano teacher.

As both concert pianist and piano teacher, I perform on the stage and teach at studio. No matter which pieces I am playing to my audience, or teaching to my students. I always contribute to representing the most beautiful moment throughout those keyboards to my listeners. At the meanwhile, my teaching philosophy is teaching my students convey their thoughts about the pieces, ideas behind the music background and composer, and unique personalities from their own.

Besides, music in the form of playing the piano is such a useful and enjoyable skill. I like to give the student a choice in the music he plays. While weekly pieces may come and go quickly, the pieces that are to be learned for performance are chosen by the student. I like to find pieces that they are excited to learn and perform in the process of practicing.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I like to find pieces that they are excited to learn and perform in the process of practicing.

However, Students come with varying degrees of talent and learning ability. I believe that every child can learn and progress. With patience on the part of the teacher and the parent, and consistency in playing the skills taught, every child will improve daily and learn to play.

What is more, every musician as a future artist, should profoundly learn how to become “artist as citizen.” The quotation is said by the Juilliard school’s president, Mrs. Joseph, which I strongly agree with its idea. As a professional musician in goal, our market is always regarding the public performance- “open to public” is one of the commonest works that we supposed to do all the time in our music career. Therefore, how to active the market of classical music and performance is very much depending on how do you advocate. From this point of view, I will always encourage and guide my students to exercise public speaking. Such as do the pre-talking (explain&describe the music they are playing) before their performance. On this way, students will establish a good skill of public communication. Because of music is rather communication and conveying as always.
