University of California, Berkeley (Mathematics)
I was born and raised in California, where I developed a love for math and teaching at an early age. In 2015, I graduated summa cum laude from UC Berkeley with a 3.97 GPA and a B.A. in Mathematics. After moving to New York City and working on Wall Street at McKinsey's private hedge fund for a year, I missed math and left to explore other opportunities. For the past few months, I've been working as a professional math tutor and realizing my goal of helping students succeed academically. I have 10 years of private tutoring experience in mathematics.
My tutoring style involves making sure my students take an active role in our sessions. My students talk me through the problems and concepts that they struggle with; my job is to help them fill in gaps. I think my students make a lot of progress because they are forced to confront challenging material and take ownership over as much of the problem-solving process as possible. In addition, my passion and enthusiasm for math is infectious and my students walk away with a greater appreciation for the subject.
I also find tutoring to be personally rewarding. I am deeply committed to helping students understand the material and get A's in their classes.
I only tutor in-person and am comfortable coming to your home or to an alternative location. Please feel free to reach out to me with any questions. Looking forward to helping you!

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
