Western Governor's University (Education, Chemistry)
My love of teaching began when I attended Rutgers University. As soon as I began tutoring, I knew I had a passion for it when a student of mine went from failing to average, and then to above average in Systems Physiology, one of the toughest courses at the university. I have much experience privately tutoring, but just the same, I have the education as well. I attended Western Governor's University to pursue my education degree and teacher's certificate in chemistry. While doing so, I taught Mad Science as a means to maintain and grow as a teacher. To complete my hours, I went to teach (and decided to stay teaching) at a Maria Montessori school where I used to teach Mad Science classes. I teach preschool to sixth grade science, math, English, and French using the Montessori method at the school. After studying and utilizing the method, I decided to bring it back to its roots and homeschool my nephew to catch him up to his proper grade. I am glad to say he is almost there! I hope to continue furthering others' educational dreams!
I attended Rutgers University and majored in Chemistry, with a sub-specialty of Chemical Biology. While there, I was a part-time tutor in Chemistry and aided the EOF department in tutoring Organic Chemistry. I also just finished my teacher's certificate with a B.A. in Education, sub-specialty in Chemistry for Grades 5-12. While I was studying for my education degree, for about a year, I taught Mad Science after school classes as well as teaching/ performing events. I currently teach all facets of science as a general science teacher at a Maria Montessori school.
As mentioned, I teach at a Maria Montessori School for preschool, pre-K, and elementary students. I hold the position as a French, Science, and general homeroom teacher. I have extensive knowledge on the Montessori method, and have even applied it as a homeschool method for my seven year old nephew. My nephew is special needs, with the conditions of mild autism, ADHD, and ODD. Utilizing the Montessori method has allowed him to become interested in science more, ask compound questions, improve his social and motor skills, and generally, allowed him to grow intellectually. Just last year, my nephew was reported as having the basic understanding of a 3 year old. I had him take multiple tests in May to check for growth, and on average, he has improved to the basic understanding of a 6 year old. I am so very proud of him, and can attest to the Montessori method as a means of education!

I look forward to hearing from you and helping you achieve success in your studies! My love of teaching began when I attended Rutgers University. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Besides my educational background, I also am an elementary school teacher at a Maria Montessori school. I teach preschool - 6th grade all general subjects as well as science and French. I have been teaching here since June 2015.
Besides being a Montessori teacher, I have the educational background. Furthermore, I homeschooled my nephew. I was able to get him to begin practice writing script at seven when just a year before, he could hardly write in print.
As mentioned in my Bio, I homeschooled my nephew. I also am now a full-time teacher, and continue to teach my nephew when I have the chance. I use the Montessori method, amongst others, to teach subjects, and I make most of my materials from scratch or by hand.
I taught Organic Chemistry at Rutgers University and have been privately tutoring college students in the subject since. I created my own lesson plan and multiple tests. I have study sheets and easy to do guidelines on how to prepare and remember mechanisms and reactions. I also have had to use Organic Chemistry for thinking of new and implementing current Mad Science projects. Furthermore, I used to work at Colgate-Palmolive as a Chemistry Intern, where a deep Organic Chemistry knowledge had to be used on a daily basis.
I have the educational background. I also have tutored in phonics, and I am a full-time teacher. I use the Montessori method, which helps enforce any phonics learning.
While at Rutgers University, I took public speaking courses. I also decided to take a few classes through edX to further my education on public speaking to aid children who have difficulty working in groups or presenting. I have been able to utilize these skills on a personal level as well as in my classroom.
I have taken several sociology courses as mandated for my education degree. I also decided to take an edX course concerning sociology in the educational field. I believe that this would qualify me as being able to have the necessary knowledge to teach and inform those studying or pursuing general sociology courses, or those specifically for education majors.
I have the educational background, as I studied education. I also decided to further my personal studies by focusing, teaching, and implementing the Montessori method. I recently took CourseEra and edX courses on study methodologies, schools of thought, and which have scientific bases. I believe I could truly help someone if and when given the chance, especially since I was able to do just the very same thing with a student in Systems Physiology at Rutgers University.
