About Camille

Hello! I will be entering my last semester at NYU this fall as a candidate for a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.F.A. in Dance. I am an avid learner and creative spirit aiming to provide a simultaneously enjoyable and effective tutoring experience.

Growing up, I have had numerous experiences developing tutoring skills. In middle school, I tutored and helped run summer camps for my mom's K-12 school. In high school, I tutored peers in math to help them succeed in standardized tests. Most recently, I worked forty hours a week for two weeks, supporting a 4th grader in both math and English. I composed a curriculum that worked with his interests in order to prepare him for the new school year. These experiences have bolstered my ability to assess a student’s challenges, and rather than judge these challenges as inhibitors, recognize them as helpful information to best understand the student’s learning style. Aside from tutoring, I also have extensive experience babysitting and teaching ballet to elementary-aged students. If it isn’t clear yet, I love to work with kids!

My time at NYU has given me tools, time management skills, and organizational processes which benefit my tutoring style. As a math major, my classes not only introduced me to a plethora of new subject areas, but have also solidified my understanding of concepts I learned beforehand. I have acquired a wide range of mathematical knowledge including subjects such as Calculus (I,II, and III), Linear Algebra, and Probability. Being a math major has revealed a variety of lenses available to approaching mathematics, which has given the subject a new sense of creativity that I love to share with clients. As a dance major, I have been immersed in a densely creative environment, where working with people is a necessity to the art form as well as a passion of mine. The creative and social skills I have developed through these studies has served as an integral building block to my tutoring style.

My target tutoring clients do not have age, level, or rigor limitations. I am happy and interested in working with clients and students who range in age, stage, and skill level. Whether you are are a parent seeking extra help for your child in any range of subjects, a young person trying to pass that one math requirement, or a student engaged in a deep pursuit of math, I would love to work closely with you and develop a course of action that will best serve your demand. Please reach out if you have any questions and I hope I can be a service to you!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Elementary Math

I have helped elementary students in math since I was in middle school. I ran summer school programs with my mom growing up as well as tutored one on one with some of her students. I recently created a two week curriculum for a 5th grader in math and ELA to review and prepare him for a new school year. I currently work with multiple students in elementary school and middle school in math.

Great energy and personality!

We had Camille work with our 6th grader and 3rd grader at the end of summer to do a math review. She was just terrific. She is so likable, the kids actually looked forward to doing math with her. She is obviously knowledgeable, but moreover, she is patient and straight-forward, making her an excellent tutor for elementary school students. Highly recommended!
