I am constantly learning and I am highly grateful for the opportunity to pass on what I learn to others. Teaching is a beautiful cycle of giving and receiving and I am excited to extend my knowledge to others.
I attended the Orange County High School of the Arts in California where I first began developing many of my artistic skills and discovered my love for design. Afterwards, I continued my education at New York University, expanding my area of interest to human rights issues and psychoanalysis, while pursuing my passions in Graphic Design and film. I worked throughout my time at NYU in administration, advancing my skills with Microsoft Word and Excel.
I currently lead a nonprofit organization, both creatively and administratively, to empower survivors of domestic violence with art therapy. I have been teaching vocational skills such as sewing, fabric painting, and marketing for 2 years. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you with your endeavors! Tanya taught me how to start building a website site I am creating on the Wix platform. She is very skilled at teaching how to use the Wix navigation/editing tools and guiding you through the process. Great communicator. I would highly recommend.
Tanya is an excellent tutor! She is thoroughly prepared and guides you in a clear and concise way. She is extremely knowledgeable and very patient. I would definitely recommend her.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
Freelance graphics and web designer; have been using Illustrator for many years
I have used InDesign many times to create brochures, magazine layouts and moodboards for various organizations. I have studied Graphic Design at New York University Gallatin and am advanced with InDesign.
I am a graphics and web designer and have used Adobe Photoshop for over 7 years for various photographs, graphics, animations, web design, and jobs.
I have played basketball for 6 years professionally for middle school and high school. I understand the game very well, and know multiple techniques for plays, defense, and shooting.
I am a fine artist, skilled and experienced with charcoal, pencil, pen, oil pastels, and mixed media drawings. As a student at the Orange County High School of the Arts, I have learned figure drawing and life studies, as well as illustrations, while leading tutorials for other classmates. I recently graduated from NYU where I continued to build my drawing skills.
I am a full time Graphic Design freelancer. I have worked on many branding and design projects for more than 5 years. I took Graphic Design classes throughout high school and at New York University.
Since Elementary School, I have focused on calligraphy, writing in script, and experimenting with various sizes and handwriting styles. As a designer, I focus a lot on typography and make handwriting my type priority for hand-drawn/hand-illustrated designs. I have various worksheets and templates to assist students with their handwriting, regardless of their age.
Hindi was my first language and I can speak and write fluently. I was formally training in Hindi and Sanskirt for 6 years, and can teach beginning and intermediate level Hindi classes, both oral and written. I will provide worksheets and guides to assist with the lesson.
I am a fine artist and paint with acrylics, watercolor, and oil paints. I have taken painting classes in high school, at the Orange County High School of the Arts. I have taught middle schoolers to paint in the past, and currently teach fabric painting to a group of domestic violence survivors through an art therapy program.
I am the CEO of two organizations: a nonprofit and a creative agency. I am constantly managing multiple projects, and have also worked in administration as a project manager for 2 years. I have many tools and resources to help students with Project Management that I can provide alongside lessons. I can teach organization, delegation, and all other aspects of project management, specific to what the student needs to learn for their individual interests, projects, or careers.
I am self-taught at sewing, but I lead a nonprofit organization that teaches sewing as part of its vocational training program to survivors of domestic violence. I have created multiple fashion collections for fashion shows at New York University and taught an intro to sewing class at NYU.
I formally trained in video production at New York University. I have directed and edited multiple short films and music videos and am currently a producer on two feature length documentaries. I have experience teaching fellow classmates editing and video production techniques.
I have over 5 years of experience as a web designer, specializing in User Interfaces and User Experience. I am proficient with many web design softwares and templates, as well as HTML and CSS. As a web designer, I have worked with web developers as well and understand what web developers need as export to code a design. I can provide guides and checklists when tutoring in web design, as a reference for the student when working on their own projects or for their career.
