Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Film

I am currently a MFA candidate at Columbia University studying screenwriting and directing. My feature screenplay made the second round of the Alfred P. Sloan foundation science grant, and my shorts have played at festivals around the country. I have also taught undergraduate level courses in documentary filmmaking, and have taught at the middle school level in the past also. My undergraduate studies were also in filmmaking. In between undergrad and graduate studies I worked for many companies including Nickelodeon, Atlas Entertainment (makers of The Dark Knight), 2929 Productions, and many others.

Hindi

I grew up speaking Hindi at home, and then took two years of Hindi language training at The University of Texas at Austin. I have gained the knowledge and training required to teach the written language to a student as well as give speech and pronunciation training.

Writing

Besides getting a high score on the writing section of the SATs back in 2006, I have written scores of high scoring essays and papers throughout my educational career. While interviewing for my MFA admission at Columbia University, I was told that I was being admitted based on my writing. As a working filmmaker, writing is a key part of my day to day routine.
