Hello. My name is Amy. I am currently a first grade teacher. I received my Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Delaware. I went on to do my Master's in Elementary Education at Hofstra University. I also became certified in Early Childhood Education. I have worked on Long Island and in Manhattan since I received my degree in 2013. I have also worked at camp as a counselor for the past 15 years. I am truly dedicated to working with children.
I love helping kids succeed. Every child learns differently, and it is my goal to figure out the best way a child learns in order to help set them up for success. I want every child to feel accomplished and like a student, with attainable goals. I hope to help you or your child by getting to know them, and how to best accommodate their needs.
I have worked with a large amount of students throughout my career. I thoroughly understand elementary math concepts, and what is expected of children at this age. I will use math manipulatives, games, and work sheets to help students.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
