Muhlenberg College 2019 (Math)
I am a sophomore at Muhlenberg College, a small liberal arts college in Allentown, PA. I will graduate with a major in math, as well as certification to teach math on the secondary school level. My cumulative high school GPA in math is 4.0. I have tutored students from grades 3 through 12 in math and history, and work especially well with students with learning differences in Elementary Math, Pre-Algebra, and Algebra I and II. I enjoy supporting each student with an individualized program that suits his or her particular learning style. I believe that part of my job is to build a student's self-esteem at the same time that I develop a program based on his or her particular strengths and weaknesses.
I was raised in northern Manhattan, and am spending the summer in the city. I am eager to help K-12 students in Manhattan keep up their math skills over the summer. To this end, I am happy to work with materials provided by a student's school or to provide my own materials for the purposes of teaching and practice.
I have a unique ability to motivate and reach students who find math particularly challenging. I get enormous pleasure from seeing my clients improve their math skills, and feel better about themselves in the process.
Please feel free to contact me to learn more about my teaching style and summer schedule. I encourage feedback and critiques in order to best meet the needs of each student. I look forward to helping each student reach his or her summer goals. I am a sophomore at Muhlenberg College, a small liberal arts college in Allentown, PA. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
