About Andrea

Hello! My name is Andrea and I am an experience private tutor located in Fremont. I will be graduating from Irvington High School this upcoming June, and will be studying Finance at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign as a James Scholar and Business Honors student.

I am a student with high academic standing, and have taken 10 Advance Placement courses over my high school career. I absolutely love working with students, and have been a private tutor for 4 years; references are available. I have tutored students between 1st-8th grade in all academic subjects ranging from social studies and elementary-level math, to reading comprehension and biology. I primarily do homework help, but have experience tutoring by subject as well. Experience in tutoring by subject includes: reading/writing/comprehension for all grades, biology, algebra I and algebra 2. My goal is to create well-rounded students who are not only academically brilliant, but have excellent social and leadership skills as well. Each tutoring session starts with a warm-up to review material from the previous session. Depending on the student's course load, I will also supplement lesson plans with small projects such as a 2 minute speech on the topic of study.

I spend the majority of my time working with students beyond academic tutoring as well. I have worked as a Student Teacher at the Milpitas Language and Cultural Center teaching Chinese as a second language to groups of 20 students for 3 years. This summer, I will be returning to Camp Galileo, a local art, science, and outdoors innovation camp, for my second year as a Summer Intern. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, and I look forward to working with you!

Approved subjects

If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
