University of Michigan (Math)
I was a Math major at University of Michigan, and have over 6 years of experience in helping students in subject areas such as Algebra, Geometry, Trig, Precalc, Calculus, and SAT/ACT Math. I enjoy helping students achieve higher results, and my laid back, patient approach to tutoring gives students confidence when trying to solve problems.
I encourage students to break down problems into their simplest components and understand the steps that need to be taken in order to obtain the answer. I also do the problems myself so that the tutoring sessions are a collaborative and my students aren't doing all of the work while I sit back and act as a supervisor. My tutoring style has led to positive results over the last 6 plus years, and I hope to have more opportunities to help students improve their math skills.
I have over 6 years of tutoring experience in all subjects of high school and middle school math, as well as SAT and ACT Math prep. I have a laid back and patient approach to tutoring which allows students to feel comfortable and confident when working on problems while I am helping them. I aid students in breaking down problems into their simplest parts and allowing them to understand what needs to be done to complete the task at hand. While Math may not be everyone's favorite subject, I try to give my students an appreciation for the many real world applications that Math can be used for.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
