Cornell University (Master's)
As a recent graduate from Cornell University with a Master’s in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor’s in Biological Engineering, I am a well-qualified tutor for biology focused courses as well as mathematical courses. I have a passion for integrating technology to better the field of medicine and am pursuing a career in the field of biomedical research. I enjoy helping students work through problems to help them learn and master difficult concepts in a one-on-one environment. I am very patient, understanding, and flexible and can help students at various levels of difficulty.
I have experience tutoring from my various Teaching Assistant (TA) positions at Cornell. I was a TA for Principles of Biochemistry for a total of 4 semesters and taught 160+ students in this autotutorial course. I helped run the biochemistry center where students would come for help clarifying concepts and take written quizzes for each unit. I was also a TA for Molecular and Cellular Bioengineering, and gained tutoring experience while I taught during office hours to help students with homework problems, clarify concepts from class, and review for exams.
This class focused on integrating both mathematical and scientific concepts with applications in biological engineering. I was also a TA for Molecular Principles of Biomedical Engineering as a graduate student. Not only did I facilitate the laboratory section each week, but I also helped students during office hours with homework problems, clarifying concepts from the lab section, and reviewing material for the exams. This course focused on scientific principles of biochemistry and its applications to biomedical engineering. My various experiences as a TA have taught me many valuable to becoming a successful tutor.
I studied Engineering as an undergraduate and have been a Teaching Assistant for various Engineering courses integrating mathematics ranging from algebra, calculus, and differential equations.
I studied Biological Engineering an undergraduate and have been a Teaching Assistant for biochemistry and biological engineering courses, helping me understand the fundamentals of biology as well as proper skills for helping teach biological scientific concepts.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
