I love tutoring because I love learning, and I enjoy sharing that with others. It is rewarding to help a student understand something that he or she once could not. I am currently pursuing a chemical engineering degree and Columbia University, and in addition to that I am studying pre med. Therefore, undergraduate is just the beginning of my studies.
My experience in tutoring includes a wide range of subjects and ages. I tutored high school students in regular, honors, and AP courses four my four years at high school, and I also tutored elementary students outside of school. I have also prepped students for SATs, SAT Subject tests in Math 1, Math 2, and Chemistry, and the ACTs.
Math is my best subject by far. I received 5s on AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC exams, above a 750 on the SAT Math 2 exam, and an A at Columbia University in Calculus II. Math, especially calculus, has always come naturally, and I often find myself teaching my friends at school because I am able to break problems down and explain them piece by piece.
Chemistry is my passion, as I am pursuing a degree in chemical engineering. I received score of 760 on the SAT Chemistry exam, and have taken Chemistry I, Chemistry II, and Chemistry Lab so far at Columbia.
I love tutoring students at all ages and levels! I hope to help students reach their academic and personal goals in the classroom! In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
