School of Visual Arts (Fine Arts)
I am a multimedia artist living in New York City. I am a recent graduate from the School of Visual Arts with a major in Fine Arts and a minor in Education. I have experience formulating art projects for children while teaching at a preschool and at a hospital convalescence. I am a very enthusiastic and energetic person who is stimulated by involvement in creative endeavors. Through my journey learning and extensive practice, my art focus has evolved from solely abstract painting to the use of mixed media. Utilizing unexpected materials into my art pieces has been invigorating due to the wide range of applications, which expands my ideas and options. When creating, I allow myself to respond authentically to my materials and what transpires during the process is between the artwork and myself.
Art has the ability to open a world of intrigue, especially for some students who need a creative outlet or do not enjoy traditional schoolwork. As one of these people myself, I will help my student find a new way of expressing themselves in hopes to lead them into a fresh and dynamic route of connecting to the world. My teaching style is encouraging and creative. I would teach the basics of painting such as composition, application, contrast, tone, and values. I would incorporate the students personality, their likes and dislikes, to arrive at the ideas for art projects that would be both enjoyable and inspiring for them. I am passionate about helping other people experience the pleasure of learning to express themselves in an artistic manner. I am a multimedia artist living in New York City. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I was a competitive junior tennis player, becoming internationally ranked at the age of 15. Although, I am off the competitive route, I still have maintained excellent skills and technique. Since, tennis has been ingrained in me at such a young age, I know I would be a great instructor. I would make sure to incorporate fun while teaching the discipline needed to be a successful tennis player.
I can teach beginner, advanced beginner, and advanced levels.
