Loyola Marymount University (Chemistry)
Since freshman year of college, I've had a drive to tutor other students. In a subject I originally struggled with, Chemistry, I reached out to tutors to help; I ended up loving the subject so much with their help that I decided to major in Chemistry.
Because of this great experience, I became a science tutor in my sophomore year so that I could help show other students that science was interesting, and that anyone could understand it!
I tutored other students throughout college, in subjects ranging from Chemistry, Biochemistry, Anatomy, and Biology. I was also in the Honors Program at my college and mentored younger students in their Honors English classes. Additionally, I have spoken French for 13 years and would be happy to help with a foreign language course.
With my science background, I was on the pre-pharmacy track at my university, and I had to take the PCAT, fill out primary and secondary applications, get references, and go for interviews. I scored in the 99th percentile on the PCAT and got into every pharmacy school I applied to - therefore, I would love to help with graduate/doctorate degree applications and test preparation
I graduated with a degree in Chemistry/Biochemistry and a minor in Environmental Science, on the pre-pharmacy track and in the Honors Program. I tutored in the science college starting in sophomore year, helping students from freshmen through seniors to better understand and enjoy the science classes they were taking, from homework help to exam preparation.
Please feel free to reach out to set up a lesson! I am available Mondays from 8am-6pm, but can be flexible with your schedule as well. Looking forward to hearing from you! Because of this great
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
