I am a native New Yorker and have been teaching and tutoring throughout the 5 boroughs. My students range in age from 9 years old to seniors. I am involved in the creative and performing arts on a regular basis and am a former Junior High School teacher as well.
I have tutored in several areas and subjects including Art, Music, Fitness, Handwriting and several other disciplines. My methods are direct and effective leading to lasting results. Sessions are always customized to the students individual need and are conducted in a fun and patient atmosphere. I am available to travel within reasonable distances throughout NYC.
I have been tutoring for over a decade and am a former school teacher. I have taught in large classroom settings and also private one on on settings. During college I tutored students during both evening and early morning hours with effective and improved results.
I have extensive experience teaching and tutoring penmanship and have a background in both calligraphy and typography as well (Parsons School of Design) As a free-lance illustrator and graphic designer I have employed various styles of handwriting in my work.
I am a lead and rhythm guitarist in three music groups. I also perform as a solo (finger style) guitar at venues around NYC. I have been teaching guitar for over 15 years am a certified TV producer at SICTV where I produce television shows highlighting local talented guitarist from the New York area. I;ve studied at The Johnny Colon Music School and The Julliard School in NYC.
I've taught drawing to children and adults for over 20 years encouraging and helping them to develop a portfolio of work in several mediums. I studied Art, drawing,illustration and visual arts at the High School of Art & Design and am a current member of the Art & Design HS Alumni Association.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I am a Graduate of the High School of Art & Design (1978) in NYC. After High school I was accepted into Parsons School of Design (1981) in NYC as a Communication Design major which included courses such as Intensive Drawing and Life Drawing. I also studied fine Arts at the College of Staten Island as well as coursework in drawing at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. I have been a freelance Illustrator for several years (1985 - present).
I have been teaching guitar to beginners, intermediate and advanced guitar players for over 20 years to students of all ages. I studied Classical guitar at The Johnny Colon music school and also The Julliard School and have been performing as a Solo guitarist and also a lead guitarist with several bands over the past 15 years covering music such as Jazz, &B, Pop, Brazilian, Gospel and more.
As a visual Arts and design major I was trained in both Handwriting, Calligraphy and Typography. I also have over 20 years experience in handwriting for architects and Drafters. I have taught penmanship as a 6th grade and 7th grade Junior High school teacher.
