In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was born in Seoul, Korea, and grew up until 13. Since then, I have been communicating in Korean with family members and also have read Korean books to not lose my competency in the language. I am currently a bilingual and have solid reading/writing/speaking skills in Korean.
I have experience teaching Korean to English speakers during high school, and I have also translate business documents both ways (from English to Korean & Korean to English) via writing/speaking.
