The New School for Drama (Master's)
My name is Britton B. and I am a recent graduate of The New School for Drama where I received my MFA in Playwriting. In addition to graduate work at The New School, I have also studied Literature and theater at Oglethorpe University in Atlanta, GA and was an Associate Student at Oxford University; Trinity College in the UK. I currently works as an Academic Coach with Academics West in New York.
As a tutor, I find reward in helping my students become passionate about the Humanities. I strive to meet the needs of my students individually, helping them find the academic strength necessary to improve grades and test scores. Ultimately, my goal as a teacher is to inspire my students to have an appreciation for education that transcends test-taking, instilling a life-long love of learning. I firmly believe that the Humanities have an applicability to my students' every day lives, and the lessons they learn through Literature and History can enrich the human experience.
In addition to being an Academic Tutor, I am also a professionally produced Playwright who's productions have been seen Off-Broadway and throughout the country.
My qualifications as an English tutor stem from my passion for Literature in addition to extensive scholarly study in the field. I received my B.A. in English and completed an Associate Studentship at the University of Oxford where I studied Romantic Literature, Fiction Writing, and Playwriting. I hold an MFA in Playwriting from The New School for Drama where I have studied Avant Garde theater, applicable writing skills, in addition to the entire Shakespearean canon. I also have first hand experience in the craft of writing, as I am a professionally produced playwright and a published poet.
