About Maximilian

I've been tutoring kids and peers since high school. I always found that I was able to connect to other people in a way that most can't, that I could dissect subjects in a way that would help people have a deeper understanding of what they were learning. I have great SAT scores and tutored peers for the SAT throughout high school. I have experience working with children with learning disabilities. I've worked as an administrator of a summer camp, as well as an instructor.
I'm a writer at heart, and I've been studying English at Duke for the past three years. I'm an expert at helping other people get their ideas down on paper in a clear and persuasive manner. I'm fun, I work hard, and I'm extremely passionate about learning!

I scored an 800 on the SAT math section. I have very high reading and writing scores on the SAT (high 700's). I've been writing my whole life. I've worked with students on college essays. I was told by the Dean of Admissions at Duke that my college essay was one of the best he had ever read. I've been studying English at college. I've won awards for poetry.

I'm super friendly and very easy to talk to. Kids love me. I babysit a lot and have worked at a summer camp for years, so I really know how to relate to kids. I'm not a boring tutor. You'll get good grades and you'll have a ton of fun doing it. Most importantly, you'll come out of our tutoring sessions feeling confident about your abilities. Let me show you how smart you are and help you feel proud about it!

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Adobe Photoshop

I worked in a computer lab in college where I taught students and teachers how to use software, especially Photoshop. I've been using Photoshop for almost 10 years.

English

I've been writing fiction and non-fiction my whole life. I use excellent grammar and I have a mastery of the English language.

SAT Math

I scored an 800 on the Math section of the SAT. I was in advanced math throughout high school and I would frequently tutor my peers. I scored 5's on the AB and BC advanced placement exams.

I scored in the high 700's on the Reading section of the SAT. I'm an avid reader with a passion for strong, well-crafted writing.

SAT Writing

I scored in the high 700's on the Writing portion of the SAT. I write strong, carefully worded essays, as well as creative and entertaining fiction. I write poems, short stories, novels, plays, and screenplays.
