About Heather

Heather is a musician and actress. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Heather currently lives in New York City. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee and dabbled in many facets of the music industry. Having reached a plateau in her career and needing to try her acting wings, she decided to move to New York City. Since moving north, Heather has been working as a pianist/songwriter/recording artist who has performed with many types of bands - from funk and rock to jazz and country and playing a wide range of characters as an actor. Heather trained her whole life as a classical pianist and continues to perform in that genre as much as possible.

She started writing music at age eleven and continues to write and perform her own music as well as conduct, direct, and perform in musical theatre. Heather has released three CDs: "To Be Continued", "Eclectic Energy" and "Go With The Flow". She is currently working on her fourth CD and has classical CD project and a musical in the works.

Heather is a member of AFM Local 802 and Actors Equity Association. She has had many roles in television, film, and theatre.

Piano performance, songwriting, recording artist, musical theatre workshop director for children, private piano teacher, group piano teacher, general music for children 18 months through 18 years. Also available for vocal coaching.

I am someone who has worked with children and adults of all ages and always make sure that the experience is not just educational but also fun. I encourage you to make an appointment with me so we can get started and open up the possibilities to your musical universe!

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I am currently teaching the fundamentals of music to children ages 12 months to 5 years at a school on the Upper East Side in Manhattan. Having graduated from Berklee College of Music, I have a very thorough music background.

Professional, knowledgeable and engaging singing tutor — Heather is a great vocal teacher who connected well with my 9-year-old daughter. She taught her breath and voice exercises, and somehow managed to make the lesson both serious and fun, technical and yet natural at the same time. Heather's experience working with kids in musical theater (such as at Stagedoor Manor) really came through. ...
