I am a certified native Spanish teacher from Spain who loves teaching her language and sharing her culture with her students. I am assistant professor with 12 years of teaching experience. I teach to spark excitement, share knowledge, and build personalities. As the eager but terribly disruptive student that I was, I was always afraid of dull teachers and mentors. I am none of that! I have extensive experience tutoring Spanish to kids (any age) and adults, any age is good to start learning Spanish!
I like to focus on personalized communication skills that I adjust to the level of each student, from absolute beginner to advanced. I combine learning techniques using conversation, reading, videos, music and audio to support the theoretical understanding of any new concept. Let me know if there is something specific you would like to work on; general language skills to travel, specific grammar, speaking, etc. After teaching in three different countries on two continents, my teaching style has evolved over the years and I am constantly checking on my student needs, their understanding, and modifying my short-term goals to help them reach theirs. As I continue to learn from experts and colleagues, my style also continues to evolve. In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
